PROJECT REPORT

DIGITAL WATERMARKING USING DWT

Our project is to implement a watermarking technique with the help of Discrete Wavelet Transforms.

In the initial phase of our project we have studied about the basic concepts of Discrete Wavelet Transforms and also it?s properties. We also studied about the merits of DWT over various other techniques. We collected some documentation regarding various digital image watermarking techniques using DWT. We studied some algorithms and understood the basic format of implementation of an algorithm to embed a watermark. And regarding the study of software, we started learning MATLAB, the software needed to implement the selected technique.

We are now planning to study some more algorithms and choose the algorithm using which we would implement the watermarking technique. Also we will continue learning MATLAB software and implement some sample algorithms before proceeding to the original algorithm so that these would provide some reference data while testing the desired algorithm.
