When I was an adolescent, I read a romance book (Silhouette Desire, pretty sure) that was from ~80s, probably. Maybe early 90s. The female MC was named Jordan, I don't remember the male MC's name. She's an author whose books are to be turned into screenplays; he's the screenplay writer. Her books are somewhat dark (abuse, etc, I think) and eventually the male MC forces her to admit that they aren't just stories, that these things truly did happen in her life. Kiss kiss, through love we triumph over personal trauma. At some point, when asked why she has a masculine name, she responds that her father wanted a son, not a daughter.
Another one (also Silhouette Desire, ~80s-90s) has the female & male MCs have sex when she's blacked out from mixing antibiotics and alcohol. The room was all white and she is freaked out by white for a while. She ends of being pregnant (antibiotics+birth control=baby) and they run into each other again. His name (I think) was Reid St. James and he was left as a baby at a convent. He was named by nuns. It's all about them learning to trust each other and fall in love and stuff. I think the cover has her on a bed wearing white.

Anyway, I'm searching for another book if you can help: the MC is a British lord solving murders in Napoleanic England. A serial killer is targeting people connected to survivors of a wrecked ship coming back from India, apparently they ate the cabin boy to survive and his relative wants revenge. I think there was a side plot with the MC's fiance being a spy for Napoleon, too.
Additional info from secretone: Oh ****, it's definately not a historical romance, yeah, I don't read those. Think it's a historical mystery published in the 2000s probably 02-06, I'm pretty sure I read it when it first came out and I'm not that old. Also, I think there are at least 2 other books in the series, which is why I'm asking, want to see if any more have been published. Thanks again.

hope u can help me find the title of this book i've been i been trying to find in more than 10yrs....
its a Historical Romance, what i remembered was that the H is a titled (baron or count cant remember)knight during the crusade/ottoman empire, the h is an english noblewoman. it seems her parents had died while on a trip to the ottoman empire and she was adopted by the reigning sultan . she was raised in the harem. while the fortress was sieged by the invading knights she was captured, and i think this was deliberate coz she was tasked to kill that knight. instead of following orders she fell inlove with the knight and she was she was brought back to england but had a hard time adjusting to culture.
this was a very old book i read it around 1995-1996 (its already old when i read it at that time, so i guess it ws published around 1980's or early 90's)... its a thick paperback, around 400-500pages.
and i tried asking some ppl they suggest this might be Black Lion's Bride by Tina St. John... but when i check that book was published in 2002.... so this cant be the book im looking for.

I've been trying to find a book I read ~ 10 years ago. The heroine is named Cat (Catherine) - same as her great-grandmother (I think). She inherits this big old house, which has been in the family for generations, on some island which has a ghost in it that got stuck there through a curse - the great-grandmother and the ghost were supposed to get married but one betrayed the other (hence the curse) and the guy turns into a ghost. The ghost then falls in love with the heroine and saves her from an explosion in the big old house and gets rewarded by being turned into a person again. It's a romance novel, as you can shurely guess.

For the life of me I can't remember the title but wanted to go back and read it again.
A woman has terrible dreams about a group that fights paranormals. She turned them into novels. She goes on vacation in Boston (I think) and the man from her dreams is there. He went to investigate the woman spilling the secret of their organization after one of his team is killed. Their group is the rose society or something like that. Then he saves her after an attack and takes her back to their compound. She finds out she is a descendant of the groups founder.

I read a book a while ago and I can't recall any of the characters names unfortunately. I read it between 2005 - 2008. Not sure which of those years. Anyways the woman, she I think wakes up as a demon or gets bit and turns into one but she doesn't know it at first because she's unaware of paranormal stuff. She finds herself quite frequently floating up to the ceiling and can't seem to get herself back down at first. She is funny and sassy and fiesty. Her sister is a werewolf and I think it's her sister's bestfriend who is a vampire and they don't really like eachother. I believe she has a romantic interest and he is human. So when she finds out about her being a demon that gets in the way of it. This book was really funny and I can't remember jack crap except for the above. I've searched everywhere and even went back to my library and searched all their paranormal romance novels for it. I remember finding it in the adult fiction paranormal romance section and I know it was paperback. Thanks for your time. Sorry I can't think of more. :/

I read a book some time ago...I thought Carolyn Faulkner wrote it, but haven't seen it out under her name since.
It was about a lady who lost her husband and decided to run for office in their town in his place. She lost the race to another man who had grown up with the couple in school. Her health is horrible, between the pressures of the political race and having just become a widdow. He ends up moving her in with him and taking care of her. One of the memorable scenes her husband comes back as a ghost and spanks her! It was quite a good read and I would enjoy it again if you could help me with a title!

A while back I read an ebook and would love to read it again. The problem is I don't remember the title or the author...I have been trying to find it, but haven't had any luck. Truth is, I remember small details but nothing more or really telling. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. *sighs*
The things I do remember are:
1. Alpha was a shapeshifter of some kind.
2. Most of the story takes place in a pub full of shifters.
3. The heronie was "special". I can't remember if she was a hybrid of some kind or part mage...I can't remember darnit.
4. I do remember that there was a bitchy rival for the hero's affection. Someone named Betty, Besty, Barbara...something like that.
5. There was a huge bar brawl.
6. The heroine transform in someway and kicks some major ass.
7. Was part of a series...I think.
8. I also think that she originally seeked out the Alpha for help or protection...dang it I can't remember.
I know it isn't much to go on...but I am hoping that it might spark something and I might get lucky.

Dear Aunt Aoi;
I've been trying for years to remember the name of a book title and am hoping you can help.
I think the title has something to do with a Mad(crazy) Earl or Marquis. He doesn't have any family left and needs to provide an heir for his estate. He believes that he is either dying or will end up in Bedlam as he suffers from migraines like his mother. (I believe they drove her to suicide).
The heroine, agrees to marry him in exchange for him building her a hospital or vet clinic or something along those lines. Something medical, I think. Along the way she discovers that he suffers from migraines and one of the cures she uses is coffee!
The book is a historical written in the same style as Coulter, Henley, and Quick. The few that fit this parameter, that I have found by these authors, aren't the one I'm looking for.
I first read the book about 14-17 yrs ago, but I can't remember if it was new or used. Nor can I remember the character names, just that it was set in the English countryside.
Is this enough information?

He wasn't dying but rather believed himself to be slowly going insane, like his mother.

Dear Aunt Aoi,
I read a review of a recent book and was intrigued. But now I can't remember the title or the author's name. I remember that it was a YA book and some vague descriptions of the plot.
It's a world where strong psychic abilities are considered dangerous and kids with psychic abilities are split by the strength of their abilities and are sent to special camps to be trained. The main character is pretending that she has a weaker ability to blend in but gets into trouble with her pretense (naturally!) and I can't remember how! Darn it!
Be very grateful if you can help.
MORE DETAILS: All the kids are in a camp-type setting and they all have powers but the main characters is pretending to have less power than she has. Hope someone knows the book I'm talking about.

I was on GR i believe i was looking at a highlander book, and you know how they give u recommendation on the right side so i found this book, i'm not sure if it was about highlanders or vickings but definitley in that timeline and there were witches too i think, what i loved about the book is the male characters they are self-centered, egotistical, gorgeous, inlove with themselves, the plot sounded hilarious it was something like that: this guy had to marry a woman in order to save his clan and he believed the people and the woman should drop down on their knees and worship him because his willing to sacrifice his good looks to save them.

When i was a child/teen (when dinosaurs roamed) i uded to go to the library and check out 10 books at a time. i checked out from all areas (i had permission to read anything). I remember a book I really liked but it got returned before i wrote down the title. It has really bugged me all these years. It was probably a YA or adult Sci-fi fantasy.
It was placed in the future after the fall. People lived in tribes but there were bits of the past around and they had mythology about them- for example you came to a black river (road) prayed and the "gods" would turn thier eyes from red to green to let you cross (stoplight). The main male character is looking for his soul mate. He wears a soul egg. Every person gets and egg from the soul egg tree at birth and when they find thier soulmate the eggs light up or something. He finds a girl from a differnt tribe and she is his mate but he is worried they don't use soul eggs. They go on a journey for some reason (disaster? find her tribe?) and he has to try to teach her his ways and learns from her also.
I was obsessed with crystal eggs after reading it! LOL

Oh....I really hope you can help me with this cos this book has been in my mind even after 20+ years. I can only remember the hero's name which is Slade. The storyline is somewhat like this.....The hero came about the heroine somewhere where she was swimming in nude and singing a bawdy song. And the story develop into whereby the heroine fell in love with Slade but his heart was with someone else. When he was betrayed by this other woman, he wanted to get back to the heroine but had to grovel to show that he really wants to be in her life and of course the heroine does not make it easy for him. The heroine needs a fake fiance so she approached the hero to stand as one. Since everyone thought in the office that the hero is gay she thought that she'd be safe from falling in love or getting attached to him although she already finds him HOT. In the end it turned out that it was all a misconception. It was a nice novel and got some funny moments too. I love the scene where the hero finds out that the whole office thought he is gay---- God that was hilarious

I've been on the lookout for this book on and off for a few years. First off, I had the audiobook a few years back so I never saw it in physical form. Liked the story but cannot seem to recall the title! Argh.
The story: I think it may be a sci fi classic, but I really dunno. The story's set in some far off apocalyptic future where humans live segregated by gender. The main character's a guy, and we follow his life from early adolescence(?) until his old enough to be assigned a job. Oh, and everyone doesn't have names and are referred by some code system. He's sorta smart, but he got a job as a roadsweeper (i think) for some reason. So while he's sweeping the roads, he saw the girls working the fields and shared glances with one of the girls (ooh romance) one thing led to another and in the end they ran off together into the wilderness and found an old house and lived there all alone.
That's the main gist of it, but the story's a bit more convoluted than that. I don't remember why, but the guy had a secret hideout where he did some experimenting on his own (see, smart guy) and i think he got caught because one of his dorm mates babbled to the officials.
I remember quite a bit more, but I think that's enough detail for now. Help, please

I started reading a book some years ago but could not finish it and now I don't remember the title or the author.
Here's the storyline, at least what I know of it:
The heroine has been dumped at the altar, she decides to enjoy the already-paid for honeymoon. So she's alone in her honeymoon suite with chocolate, champagne, sexy lingerie and condoms!!
Our Hero seems to be in law enforcement, I think he is a sniper on a mission to catch a certain slippery villain. The villain was spotted near the hotel, he tried to apprehend him but in vain. In a series of dodged bullets and climbing of hotel balconies, the villain reached the heroine's room.
She was sleeping off a hangover (too much champagne!) and in NUDE!! Unfortunately for her, she's taken as hostage in her current state with our hunk pointing a gun towards them. This does not go on long enough, I don't know how but the villain manage to escape, leaving our hero with the heroine in her birthday suit!!lol
And this is till where I read, I do not know the end. I would really appreciate it if anyone can get me the title of this book.

It's a book I read as a child. The main character ends up, I believe, doing a science project for school, where he effectively turns himself into a plant. I very keenly remember him taking off his shoes and wriggling his feet in the dirt outside the school, and feeling little shoots come out of his feet. He processes light as sustenance and I think he turns green.

I'm looking for a book title. I read the story a couple of years ago (2005 or 2006) but I'll try to remember as much as I can.
The story is set in the old days. It begins when the the heroine's house is under attack and the hero saves her but but she doesnt realize that and she hits him on the head with her brooch which leaves a scar. The villian that attacked her house is the hero's uncle.
After some time they meet at the Kings palace and she protects him by not telling the judge he was there when her house was attacked.
The hero's mom tries to separate them and try to get them killed them at various points through out the book. The hero is either from Scotland or Ireland and the heroine is from England. The hero's sister marries the best friend but the uncle kills her. The hero's father was killed by the mom, uncle and a guy disguised as a monk.
I hope it sounds familiar to someone. The story was really good. Thanks in advance.

I read this Historical Romance back in the 90's the Hero i believe was a Knight or Nobleman who was forced to marry a Heiress so that he can take care of his keep and brothers. When the heroine arrived she found the keep and brothers were filthy. The hero resenting the fact that he had to marry her just left her there and went to off somewhere for a while (war?) by the time he returned the place was clean, it also turned out that the heroine was very industrious and had a good head for business etc everyone loved her. He eventually loved her. I remember the epilogue the Hero was downstairs pacing worriedly as the heroine was upstairs giving birth.
I know the book sounds similar to The Taming but it isnt it.

-This girl has a really nice heart and a guy tricked her into running away with him by saying they were going to the girl's grandma's place. This book takes place in winter and they were traveling through the snow in a carriage I think. Anyway, an old friend of the girl and the girl's family goes after her to "save" her. When he catches up to them, the girl says she had things under control and etc. Then their carriage breaks and they stay at a lodge where they tell everyone the girl and the guy who tricked her into running away are sister and brother. Then the girl's old friend starts falling for her.

I have read this book as a teen, some 15 years ago, and for the love of God, can't remember the name of the book or the names of the characters. It's always stayed in my memory as that was my first romantic novel and something I want to read just to relive those days. I would hide under the table to read such books, as the covers were scandalizing and of the fear of being caught reading them.
I am not sure of the entire plot, but I recall is this passionate lovemaking scene penned by the author, about the actress tying the hero to the bed, and entering his chambers to give him a wash, and how; he has already undone the ropes tied, but does not disclose this. The actress, thinks that as he is tied, and to teach him, a lesson starts making love with him, but what starts as a plan to teach him a lesson ends up being a total ravishment of the heroine. If I am not mistaken this was either to do with being kidnapped and asked to work on the ship by the hero to earn her passageway, or it was to do with taking revenge.
It's been years now, and I have tried searching it through different web search but unfortunately, am unable to trace or get the name of the book, and I am really keen on reading it once again.
Additional Info: Don't remember clearly, but I think it's historical romance, and the heroine wasn't an actress, but yes definitely a virgin, and it did include forced seduction. She was abducted and made to work for her passageway or something along similar lines. This is what I recall of the novel. I think the hero was definitely a pirate, but I am not too sure as it's been several years now. He could also be a viking, who had kidnapped the heroine out of revenge. Furthermore, do you have any recommendations of novels where the heroine is abducted by the hero, forced seduction, worked to earn passageway, bedded out of revenge, which eventually leads for the lead characters to fall in love, I would really appreciate it.

It's a historical romance set in Scotland. The hero is raised thinking he is English but his mother fled an abusive husband and married an Englishman (geoffery?)
He is made to return to Scotland and marry a Scottish girl, his bastard half brother thought he would inherit and is bitter (he got his mistress pregnant but she falls down the stairs and miscarried). The half brother got involved with court intrigue but comes good in the end

I am back again with two more requests of novels I have been trying to look for and unfortunately can't remember the names of the characters and neither the name of the books, but it's either Mills and Boons or Harlequin romances.
Plot 1: The hero wants to take revenge against the heroines's father for ruining his family, and he makes her fall in love with him, impregnates her and leaves. The heroine is desperate to find him as she is baffled by his behavior and wants to know why he did this. She tracks him down, and after hearing why the hero behaved this way is heartbroken. The hero realising he is going to become a father, blackmails her into staying with him. She relents but vows that she will make him fall in love with her and their baby.
Plot 2: I'm not sure of the entire plot, but the hero is in love with the heroine, and wants to punish her for some past deed. The hero is either a captain of the ship or he is a very rich man, who holds the secret key to her future. He wants to extract a punishment from her, and offers her employment on his ship or house. She is asked to scrub floors, cook meals, etc. The heroine has led a sheltered and protected life, and she is too far spirited to bend down and disagree, so takes this as a challenge and does as per the hero's binding. As days pass, the hero falls more deeply in love with her, and she not only secretly enjoys doing house hold chores for the hero but falls passionately in love with him. However, both are too proud to admit to each other. One day, after noticing the blisters on her hands due to the hard work, the hero realises his mistake, and strikes another bargain with her, the price of which is far higher for her to pay than that of cooking and tending to him.

There is a book I read years ago and never got to finish. I'm hoping someone will know the title/author.
h is an olympic skater, H is an air force officer. They were married but H cheated w/ another woman and h ended up divorcing him. h miscarried due to the stress of the high profile divorce. H and h meet again several years later, H is I think a widower and has a daughter. h is teaching ice skating. H is in politics now. h has a twin sister who has something to do with whatever was happening that caused the 2 to be reunited.

Ok, I know this is almost a mission impossible, but I try anyway.
This book dates back between 1983 and 1990. I don't know the original series or publisher, because I read it in Italian.
PLOT: The scene is set in London. The hero is a tycoon, and the heroine is his PA, the only one who would be able to cope with his bad temper and who's determined not to be involved with him. When he's got a flu, he asks her to go to his home and take care of him. In another scene they both go to the country side, to his sister's house, where the situation between them becomes explosive.
At a certain point, after they have a fight, he "lends" the secretary to his brother's office, just so that she doesn't resign. There's no real sex until almost the end of the story, where he finds out she's a virgin.

now the other thing is that i cant remember this book's name no matter how much i tried.. i found it on goodreads.. i remember the plot.. it goes like this-
the girl and boy fell in love with each other in school... they were very happy until the boy hooked up with heroine's school nemesis or she thought he did (am not sure exactly what happened!! ). so her heart broke and she went away.. its the plot of the first half. now in the second part she comes back to town after a couple of years. she is engaged to another man. the hero tries to win her back.. she is confused and at first she says no and after all the blah this and blah that they get together and live happily ever after..
i will be really really happy if someone help me to find this book or another story with similar plot...

I have read quite a few books whose titles i don't remember so can you please help
here are the main ones
book 1: its an intrigue book, the hero is an under cover FBI agent working as a leader of a racist group (whites only), the heroine is an agent with a top secret agency, her nick name is Angel, and she was sent to infiltrate the group and bring the leader down, no knowing that he is and FBI agent, the end up getting married to make it look as if they belong in the group.
Book 2: this is a tender romance book, the hero is a horse trainer, owns a farm, his neighbor asks him to marry his daughter (her name is reina) whom he doesn't like and she agrees cos she wants to please a father who has never loved her, they end up falling in love.
Book 3: modern romance M&B, she is a PA asked to fill in for the big boss' PA, she is a really shy girl, somehow he convinces her to act as his girlfriend, so during the day she is his secretary and in the evening she gets all dressed up and goes out with him to socialize, she eventually gets ill from exhaustion so he sends her off to his holiday home. that's all i remember.

hey auntie. i have another book that bugs me to heaps. still have tiny bit of facts that i cant set straight, her are flashes that i can remember:
-heroine is some kind of sex/relationship expert that is a dj on a radio late at night
-hero is an ER doctor that have a kid sister which is best friend or friend of the heroine
-one night? the heroine got bit in the backside by a dog in her complex and she then makes herself go to the hospital that the hero is working, the hero is almost past his duty but still treats the heroine.
-hero then proceeds to take care of the heroine and later then discovers that heroine is into colors and just wearing black because she can't match colors right(lame really, but kind of vulnerable, just lovely!)
-they discover they have this fire for each other and the, i dont know the next !

You sound like the answer to my prayers, a few years back I read a @ part series of books, the 1st book was about the father who is an Earl I think, these are historical romance by the way. He meets the h who is not upper class. She loves horses and trains them. The H takes her back to his country home where a lot of the scenes are about horses. The 2nd book is about the son. In the first scene the h is caught in the H's room and she's accused of stealing. But the H does not want to call the authorities. the heroine tries to escape out the window and ends up falling from a tree. The H is interested in the h from the start and wants to help her. The h's father is in prison and about to be hanged. A lot of the scenes are in a ship and the h used to work in a shipyard when she was younger. I can't remember the books' titles or the author. The 2nd book was very good. please help, thanks!

I am trying to find a book I read a while ago. It is a wolf shapeshifter story. The heroine has a child and has asked a pack to accept her and her child. While on the way to meet them with a friend they are attacked by a group of wolves trying to mate with her. She is a rare wolf that can have a child by any wolf. Her friend is injured in the attack and the new packs wolves show up in time to save her but one of them is her true mate.
