i'm looking for a free epub reader that works for windows XP that has night time reading mode (meaning white text on black background and adjustable font size & brightness) and able to bookmark and show book progress.

this is for a friend who loves to read, but can only read at-night, coz she has to work during daytime and only have her windows laptop as her e-reader, i tried searching and what came out most are apps for android

any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance

I use Adobe Digital Editions on my laptop, but it's a Vista (so I don't know if it works on XP), plus I never saw this nighttime reading mode, only on my cell phone's app...

Does it really need to be an ePub reader?

I say this because Kindle for PC has a MOBI reader and there you can select:

- font size (%)
- words per line (%)
- brightness (%)
- color modes (3 options: white background with black text; sepia; black background with white text)

So I'd say just convert your ePubs to Mobi format and use KFPC.

thanks for all the suggestions. sorry i kinda forgot this thread.
we already resolved this. i gifted my friend a samsung galaxy Y fone, its android gingerbread and installed FBreader.
she's been charmed and enjoying the fone and the books
